What Heya doesn't do yet
Heya does not take donations, so the Donate buttons link to your campaign's donation page, which also keeps the contribution records. Volunteer and yard sign sign-ups work the same way: link a Google Form. Forms are planned for Pro Standard ($19 a year), which isn't live.
There is no custom domain yet, so the site lives on a name.heya.bio address. Rules on disclaimers and donations differ by state, so check with your state's election office before you publish.
Questions
Is this political campaign website template free?
Yes. The template and publishing are free: up to 3 sites with up to 5 pages each on a name.heya.bio address with HTTPS, no credit card and no time limit. Free sites show a small "Made with Heya" badge, which Pro Lite removes for $9 a year.
How do supporters donate?
The Donate buttons link to the donation page you already use. Heya does not handle payments, so contributions and the records your state asks for stay in that platform.
How does the countdown work?
It counts down to the date and time you set. On election day it switches to a short message that the polls close at 8 pm. You can change both in the builder.
Is the template partisan?
No. It is written for a nonpartisan school board race, and the layout works for any local office. Change the colors and fonts to match your signs: there are 14 presets and 42 fonts.
What happens after the election?
The site stays up as long as you want, on the free plan too. Swap the countdown for a thank-you note and add a page on what you are working on in office.
Can I use my own domain?
Not yet. Custom domains are planned for Pro Standard, which isn't live. For now your campaign lives on an address like elena-for-school-board.heya.bio with HTTPS.
