Musician website comparison

Free website builders for musicians, bands and DJs

We make Heya, which gives 3 free sites at name.heya.bio, band and DJ templates, and Spotify and SoundCloud players.

Heya is ours, so read its row with that in mind. Every other number comes from each builder's own pages, checked on October 23, 2026.

Each builder, one by one

Bandzoogle

From $9.16/mo yearly ($109.92/yr) or $11 monthly.

Bandzoogle has a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and paid plans include a free custom domain and a mailing list signup form. Standard ($14.16/mo yearly or $17/mo) and Pro ($18.33/mo yearly or $22/mo) raise the limits.

Better at
Selling music downloads, merch and tickets with no commission on sales.
Watch out
No free plan, and Lite caps you at 10 pages, 10 tracks, 100 photos and 100 subscribers.

Bandcamp

Free artist account; Pro is $10/mo ($120/yr).

A free artist account gives you a customizable direct-to-fan store at example.bandcamp.com with messaging, listening parties, pre-orders, discount codes and merch order management. Pro adds batch uploads, ad-free HD video hosting, private streaming and Google Analytics.

Better at
Selling digital and physical music and merch straight to fans without a monthly fee.
Watch out
15% fee on digital sales (10% after $5,000), 10% on physical, plus 4-6% payment processor fees.

Wix

$0 free plan; Light is $17/mo yearly ($204/yr).

Wix's $0 plan needs no credit card and includes the Wix Music player for albums, singles and playlists in WAV, FLAC, M4A and MP3, plus a free domain for 1 year on Light.

Better at
Uploading WAV, FLAC, M4A and MP3 tracks to the Wix Music player.
Watch out
Wix says you can sell music without Premium, but accepting site payments starts on Core ($29/mo yearly).

Linktree

$0 free plan; Starter is $7/mo yearly ($84/yr).

Free gives you linktr.ee/yourusername, unlimited basic links, and email and phone sign-ups. The Music link (which lists every streaming service for a song, album or playlist and can show a player) and Music Pre-save are on Free too.

Better at
One link that lists every streaming service where a release lives, plus pre-saves.
Watch out
Spotify only allows a 30-second preview, and removing Linktree branding takes Pro ($14/mo yearly or $17/mo).

Carrd

Free for 3 sites; Pro Lite is $9/yr.

Carrd gives you up to 3 one-page sites at name.carrd.co (sections simulate multiple pages) and a 7-day Pro trial with no credit card. Its Audio element embeds Audiomack, Bandcamp, Google Drive, Mixcloud and SoundCloud players and isn't listed as Pro-only.

Better at
Cheap upgrades - $9 a year removes "Made with Carrd" and adds video uploads.
Watch out
Each site is one page, and custom domains, contact forms and signup forms need Pro Standard ($19/yr).

Google Sites

No price listed; needs a Google account.

Opening Google Sites asks you to sign in to a Google account and gives you a sites.google.com address. You can embed YouTube videos, calendars, maps, and HTML, CSS or JavaScript code, and connect up to 5 custom domains.

Better at
Dropping in YouTube videos, calendars, maps and custom HTML, CSS or JavaScript embeds.
Watch out
Editing needs a computer (phones and tablets can only view), and new domains go through Google Workspace.

Heya

$0 free plan; Pro Lite is $9/yr.

Heya is ours: build without an account across 68 templates (including a band and a DJ template), a release countdown block, and 32 social/contact icons, then sign in with Google when you publish. Every plan lets you download a ZIP of plain HTML, CSS, fonts and images to host anywhere.

Better at
Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube and Vimeo players, 5-page free sites, and downloading your site as a ZIP.
Watch out
No store, mailing-list form, visitor stats, custom domains (planned at $19/yr), or Bandcamp player (links/icons only).

How we checked

On October 23, 2026, we read each builder's own pricing and help pages from a US connection, with prices in US dollars: bandzoogle.com/pricing, bandcamp.com/pro and the Bandcamp Help Center, wix.com/plans and the Wix Help Center, linktr.ee/s/pricing and the Linktree Help Center, carrd.co/pro and the Carrd docs, and Google's Sites Help, alongside our own Heya plans.

Plans change often. If a number here is out of date, email hello@heya.page and we'll fix it.

FAQ

Does Bandzoogle have a free plan?

No. Bandzoogle has a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, and its cheapest paid plan is Lite at $9.16 a month billed annually ($109.92 a year) or $11 month to month.

Can I use my own domain on Bandcamp?

No. Accounts created after April 11, 2012 need Bandcamp Pro ($10 a month) for a custom domain, and Bandcamp says it's currently unable to support custom domains.

Which builder has the cheapest paid plan for a custom domain?

Carrd's Pro Standard plan is $19 a year and includes custom domains, contact forms and signup forms. Heya also has custom domains planned with Pro Standard at $19 a year, but it isn't live yet.

Can I sell music and merch on Heya?

No, Heya doesn't have store or merch checkout on any plan today, so you link out to your Bandcamp or merch shop instead. Bandzoogle, Bandcamp and Wix all have ways to sell music.

Can I build and export a site on Heya without paying?

Yes. You can pick any of the 68 templates, edit without signing up, and download a ZIP of plain HTML, CSS, fonts and images on every plan - even without an account - to host anywhere.
